Scheduling a campaign

About campaign scheduling

A campaign is run automatically at different times of the day based on the scheduling elements that have been configured.

When a campaign is run, the next contacts to be solicited are retrieved from the data source associated with the campaign and the sending of messages is then scheduled.

A validation step prior to sending each message is activated by default so that the campaign sender can decide from their mobile application whether or not the message should be sent.

Configuration

Campaign status

Allows you to start or stop a campaign.

A campaign can be started or stopped. If it is started, it will continue to schedule the sending of new messages according to its configuration parameters.

If a campaign is stopped, no more new messages will be scheduled or sent.

A campaign's status can be managed either from the list of campaigns using the Status column, or from the campaign editing form using the Start or resume this campaign and Stop this campaign buttons.

Campaign schedule

Campaign planning settings. Allows you to configure the time zone and the campaign execution slots.

Time zone

The selected time zone applies to the execution slots configured for the campaign.

Execution slots

Allows you to control the frequency and duration of each campaign execution slot.

Cohort size

Number of contacts to be solicited per campaign execution slot. This value must be between 1 and 25 results.

Compliance rules

Daily invitation limits

Each invitation is counted daily by LinkedIn. As a general rule it is now known that Linkedin invitation limit is approximatively 100 invitations/week.

To respect these quotas, for each member you must adjust:

  • the number of campaigns started

  • the number of execution slots

  • the number of results to retrieve by execution slot

You will not be able to go over 100 invitations per week per member. Stent protects its users against abuse and your campaigns will automatically be suspended once you reach 100 invitations. The campaigns will resume the next Sunday morning.

The number of messages to your Linkedin connections is theoretically unlimited. However, we advise you not to exceed 100 messages per day.

Minimum duration

The duration of the execution slot makes it possible to distribute the sending of messages over time. Each message will be sent according to a random schedule during the execution slot.

By default, an execution slot lasts 3 hours, which is the minimum recommended time to send a maximum of 25 messages.

Consistency with associated finders

If a campaign uses a finder as a data source, its scheduling must be consistent with that of the finder:

  • The finder must have at least as many execution slots as the campaign, otherwise the campaign could run empty if there aren't enough results available.

  • The finder's execution slot must finish before the campaign's execution slot begins, otherwise some profiles would not be complete by the time the campaign starts and thus could not be used.

  • The size of a finder's cohort must be at least equivalent to that of the campaign, otherwise the campaign might not have enough results available to process.

  • The finder's time zone must be identical to that of the campaign so that their execution slots are consistent and can be linked.
